Adverse Childhood Experiences?

Parentification. If you know you know! If you don't, and were raised in the 80's, you probably experienced it. Simply put, the kid has to be the adult. Has to grow up too fast, learn too much too soon, and likely, put themselves aside fully to do it. Whether it was to literally provide all the guidance for the family and help to feed them at a young age (this was my experience), or the requirement to help emotionally regulate your parents because they didn't know how (also my experience-yay me!), it is a sad fact that you'll need to spend your life untangling this adverse childhood experience.

I've done this work my whole life, and spent my career helping others undo the effects of trauma and abuse on their mind, body, and heart. For me, my faith and yoga have been pivotal to my healing and my ability to have health relationships (with myself and others). While this is not a replacement for therapy or psychiatric care, it is crucial to involve your body in the process WHILE you are working through it with talk therapy or help. This is a critical piece missing from our professional therapeutic world.

Our program, Trauma Sensitivity and Yoga starts this Tuesday and covers a wide range of somatic techniques, kinesthetic teaching (how movement helps), neuroplastic teaching to understand how to rewire your brain, yoga, and so much more. It is worth every second of discomfort to turn around and look at your pain, because that look changes everything! Join us in this training, online option is available if you are not local. We'll see you in class. Register here: https://www.livefreetrainings.com/product-page/trauma-sensitivity-and-yoga-in-person-waconia-mn
